MPFA scholarship named for Erica Enzer

In May, the following letter was sent to Erica Enzer, a part-time instructor of mathematics at Mendocino College. Erica died of cancer on July 10, 1998. Dear Erica:

At a meeting of the membership held at the college on May 20, the Mendocino College Part-time Faculty Association voted to take the following action:

"The principal scholarship awarded to a Mendocino College student by the Mendocino College Part-time Faculty Association will be known as the Erica Enzer Scholarship. This is in recognition of the tireless spirit, professionalism and dedication to teaching exemplified by Erica Enzer in her years at Mendocino College. The scholarship also honors her leadership in promoting financial support for those seeking to continue their education at Mendocino College. Erica has served as an inspiration to us, her full-time faculty colleagues, staff, and-most of all- students at Mendocino College."

It gives me great pleasure, as acting secretary for the MPFA, to notify you of this honor. If you have any words you would like to share with future recipients of this scholarship, I will be pleased to include them in the award certificate.

From all of us who have had the pleasure of working with you and serving on the scholarship committees, our thanks for your inspiration.

Sincerely,

Neill Bell
Acting secretary,
Mendocino College Part-time Faculty Association
