"Thank you so much for your support" Dear people,
Today's box is a shopping bag with a large, two-pie pumpkin. I will not be returning to collect the bags. These are nickel bags and our boxes are dollar boxes plus shipping. Thank you for your cooperation with the care and recycling of the boxes.
This will be the last letter I address to you dear people until next year when I get out a letter in March or early April and begin to recruit new customers in Mendocino County. I hope that I have all of your addresses or phone numbers at least. If you signed up for the first time this year, please let me know your address if you have possible interest in vegetables in 2004.
I would like to make some contribution to your Thanksgiving this year, although by the time it arrives this year you may have eaten up all but the pumpkin. I cooked one of these, two halves outside up, in the oven about an hour at 325. (Maybe more than an hour for large pumpkin) Scrape the pulp from the shell. It should nearly fall out of the shell. Put through a ricer, strainer or blender. I just mashed it and put some butter on it, but I like the crust and whip cream thing, too.
Thank you so much for your support this year. I hope it has been a nourishing and satisfying supply or what we grew this year. Any suggestions for improvements or changes that any of you might make are welcomed.
Sincerely,
Tom Palley
