Three inches of rain on Monday.
Next we is the last delivery

Dear people,

Next week will be the final week of this year's boxes. In order to conserve boxes I will try to bring the final week,s produce in grocery bags that I will not need to retrieve. If you do have some of the boxes besides the one you are getting today I will hope to pick them up with my delivery next week. We lose a lot of boxes when we deliver to stores, but we hope to reuse the ones that go out to our subscribers.

I emptied three inches of rain out of the rain gage at the farm this Monday. We got our bell beans sown just before the rain last Wednesday, but the operator of the tractor failed to notice that he was running out of beans until he had put them all out, so we may not get a chance to cover the three acres that went without beans. Mistakes were made.

I learned about Kabocha squash while eating at Viraporn's Thai restaurant in Fort Bragg. It was the little orange chunks of sweetness in the soup. So for the last two years I have been growing them and I think have a great taste.

Sincerely,

Tom Palley
