Carrots and beets are one the way!

Dear people,

A trickle of squash led to the late arrival of almost a pound last week that developed and were harvested between the newsletter and the deliveries. Since then the deluge of zucchini has begun and at this point we are picking at least 50 pounds each day. Small cucumbers are forming and these may be expected before long.

In France I am told a turnip is a name of derision. The little white turnips that we grow are milder than the more conventional purple top turnip. These are usually harvested at a larger size, but the warm summer days are too much for these to do well. Carrots and beets are on the way.

The barn has a floor and a stairway coming up to it from inside the barn's ground floor. We are coming up in the world. Thank you very much for your patronage.

Sincerely,

Tom Palley
