What's In Today's Box? Salad mix
Strawberries
Sugar snap peas
Lettuce
Radishes
Green garlic
"I have a new Email address!" Dear people,
While our strawberries get smaller and sweeter, we are picking less of them every couple days. The sugar snap peas have been abundant and yet they are pooping out early and this may be the last of them for this year. Our outdoor planting of lettuces are coming up to size and we are making the first cutting of our salad mix this week. The radishes will be followed by turnips, beets and carrots in the next couple of weeks, but all of these are normally ready by now. Summer squash are growing well beneath row covers that give protection against beetle damage. In a week or two we will be supplying you with these.
This Monday we poured cement for the piers that will support our new barn. We expect to put up a roof that will cover 48 by 56 feet and give us protection from the sun and rain. Tractor repairs have been a continuing series of challenges this spring. I do have a new delivery truck, so I expect fewer problems on the road.
We are beginning to get some variety of flowers in the garden and we can deliver them with your vegetables on a weekly basis or for special occasions with your box. Mixed fresh bouquets are available for $8.00 each if delivered with your box.
I have a new email address at: coveloov@sonic.net
Sincerely
Tom Palley
